Sometimes a REAL marriage means babies and puppies and a
first home.
Sometimes, like today, a REAL marriage means sitting in a
downtown café, drinking hot tea instead of coffee (because your spouse is being a good sport and you're eating “clean”
together), and letting your hopes, dreams, and fears pour out onto the table.
In a REAL marriage, people sacrifice their preferences, their comfort, and
sometimes even their careers for the benefit of the family.
I love the joyous moments we share as a couple as we
celebrate personal victories or our children’s milestones, but I find the
moments of sacrifice, vulnerability, and recommitment to be just as beautiful.
